Notification of Changes
Mandatory Registration
Employees must notify their employer's human resources of changes in individual or family details immediately after they occur.
Any other changes (start of professional activity, start with a new employer, duration of the employment contract), must be communicated by the employer to the Social Security.
Optional Registration
Workers must notify Social Security:
- Suspension or Termination of Registration
- Change of personal, family or professional elements (change in household composition, change in marital status, change in the situation of incapacity for work, among others)
- Request for change of contribution base band
Settlement of debts
Workers must report any changes to the Social Security by the 10th of the month following the occurrence at the Social Security Office in Dili or by the 5th of the month following the occurrence at the Social Security Offices in the municipalities or RAEOA.
To report changes in elements, suspension or cessation of activity or change in the contribution base band, workers must complete the notification of changes form and send it by email or deliver it in person at a Social Security service point in Dili, in the municipalities or in RAEOA.
In the case of settlement of debts, Workers must present proof of bank transfer for payment of social security debts. The proof can be presented in person at the service centres or via email.
Workers who are going to work temporarily in a foreign country must notify the National Institute of Social security within 8 days of the date on which the posting begins, when the total duration of the posting does not exceed 24 months.
If it exceeds 24 months, workers must apply to the National Institute of Social Security for recognition of the temporary nature of the labour activity in question, instructing their application with the elements necessary to substantiate it.
Workers should report these changes at the Social Security offices in Dili, in the municipalities or in RAEOA, or by email.
